Anjali’s approach to songwriting is mainly intuitive and nailing an infectious melody is paramount to her. She loves creative writing and finding witty ways to express herself. Inspiration tends to come at times when she least expects it and she has become quite adept at translating her emotional state into a melody, which will often pop into her head even before she has a specific theme for the song in mind. As she says, “As we go through ups and downs in life, the music stays constant. I write the songs I would want to listen to no matter my mood. If the hook melody is right, not much else can go wrong.”

What Anjali appreciates most about the TC sound is how various elements of the music drive it forward. She feels that it’s important that Twin City’s music uplifts and empowers the listener and that the music feels fresh and new, but also familiar. A lot of the sounds she favors have a nostalgic element to them, which she notes evokes that feeling of familiarity. Aptly, Anjali gleefully cautions listeners to “get ready for TC because we are here to become that earworm you can’t get out of your head.”
